During his appearance on Good Morning LKN, Maple Air CEO Andrew Ip introduced viewers to Maple Air’s advanced indoor air purification system and explained how it brings commercial-grade air cleaning technology into everyday homes.
“This is actively being installed in homes in Charlotte and throughout the country,” Andrew shared. “We just launched it this spring.”
Maple Air’s system is powered by proprietary PürPlasma™ technology that was originally developed for large commercial environments before being adapted for residential use.
“The core technology is in Hilton hotels, Penn State University – some really massive spaces,” he explained. “We miniaturized it last year, and now it’s this little device for your home.”
Unlike traditional air filters, Maple Air installs directly into a home’s HVAC ductwork, where it works to reduce more than 90% of harmful microbes and indoor gases. Despite its advanced capabilities, installation is remarkably simple.
“It’s a five-inch hole, eight screws, you put it in, plug it in, and it self-calibrates – it’s done,” Andrew said.
Once installed, the system creates a plasma field that actively improves indoor air quality without producing heat, odors, ozone, or noise.
“That plasma field is what’s so great at killing viruses, bacteria, COVID, rhinovirus, and breaking down harmful gases,” he noted.
For many homeowners, one of the first noticeable benefits is odor reduction throughout their home.
“My house smells better,” he said. “I put my kids’ lacrosse gear by the AC vents and all of a sudden, there’s no more smell.”
Andrew also addressed a common concern among homeowners: durability and maintenance. Built with commercial-grade engineering, Maple Air is designed to deliver long-term performance with minimal upkeep.
“This will actually last longer than your HVAC system,” he shared. “There’s really no maintenance on it. Every two to three years, you replace the plasma chamber, but other than that, this will probably last longer than you’ll be in your house.”
Rather than replacing traditional filtration, Maple Air works alongside it to create a more complete indoor air quality solution.
“Nothing replaces your regular filter; that always protects your HVAC system,” Andrew explained. “All you need is a Maple Air and your filter, and you’ll have the cleanest air in the world.”
Installation is handled exclusively by trained professionals to ensure it’s properly installed and ready to perform.
“We only sell through dealers and distributors,” Andrew explained. “The easiest way for a homeowner is to go to getmapleair.com, fill out the form, and we’ll match them with a vetted local installer.”
Installation is faster than many homeowners expect.
“We’ve timed lots of technicians; it takes about four minutes and 30 seconds on average to install,” Andrew noted.
Andrew wrapped up the conversation by highlighting Maple Air’s mission: helping homeowners breathe easier with cleaner air throughout their homes.
“There’s a gap in the home when it comes to air quality,” he said. “We filter our water, we buy organic foods, but what about the 15,000 times a day we breathe?”
That question sits at the heart of Maple Air’s approach – bringing proven, commercial-grade air purification into homes, and helping families think differently about the air they rely on every single day.

Every Piece Is Unique

Not all air purifiers work the same, and the technology inside makes a big difference in what actually gets removed from your air. This guide compares the most common systems and explains which ones are best equipped to handle the full range of indoor pollutants.

If you’re comparing ozone generators and air purifiers, it’s important to understand they work in very different ways. This article breaks down how ozone systems operate, their limitations and safety concerns, and why plasma air purification offers a more practical solution for everyday, occupied spaces.
